The ECB will be spitting feathers that the Caribbean Premier League have seen their "Hundred" and raised (or rather reduced) it to "The Sixty".  We really are in a race to the bottom of the human attention span.

Surely the logical extension is that there will be an appetite among the franchise TV companies to reduce the format to a point where there won't be any time wasted playing any actual cricket. So why don't we just cut to the chase and launch (drum roll)  "The Top Tosser". Tom Harrison would be an ideal poster-boy.

"The Top Tossers". The two captains stand in the middle, toss the coin, best of 3 to make it interesting, and then walk off. No cricket needs to be played at all and the whole competition is all completed in a day! Home "games"am and away pm.  10 minutes toss time with a one minute break between tossers. Pre toss live entertainment at the Oval provided by Tom Tosser and the Coin Flippers. Mouth watering prospect. The next step would be hologram technology, where you don't need players at all.
