Surely he would not get interest the Surrey T20 side,so why is he coming back? Not convinced this is a good signing.

Hardie is a young player who looks a good prospect. 174* in the Sheffield Shield final.

I’m not sure he was helped tonight by being given two overs in the power play. He looks quick though, and is clearly a good bat. We’ll hopefully see the best of him at Scarborough.

He needs to settle in - I'm putting the run-out chaos (and the earlier one we got away with) down to first night nerves (or was he jetlagged?). Not a great start, but I don't judge his potential on that. Time will tell.

The run out was very clearly Sam’s fault and Hardie did the right thing sacrificing himself.
