Afternoon T20 thoughts
While Pavillion-dwellers are thankfully spared the music that is frequently blasted in the public stands, I did wonder during today’s game whether a different approach should be taken to Sunday afternoon T20s.
I understand that the music, flame throwers, pointless interviews with kids, add to the atmosphere that brings in the “only here for the beer” crowd on a Friday night, and keeps them spending in the bar. Are they really necessary though on a Sunday afternoon?
I wonder if the club would be prepared to make these games “quiet” matches, and see if that would add any ticket sales? No music. No flame throwers. No interviewer shouting down her mic.

When we arrived at the ground at the Vauxhall end,as were were walking round to find a spot we heard and saw a bloke arguing because the steward wouldn't allow him in to where he wanted to go."But i'm a member he protested." It was Tony Blackburn!
I was pleasantly surprised with the seats we got.In the Peter May area for the first time (at a T20) when it got a bit hot we moved back into the shade at the innings break with plenty of seats to choose from. Both times we got two at the end of the row.
At the risk of repeating myself i would still like the option of the Bedser covered area.Once again there were hundreds of empty seats in there.
