The Currans Empty The Currans

Post by Coatesy Tue Oct 05, 2021 1:47 pm

Sam is out of the T20 WC due to a back injury

He is replaced by Tom, who was in the travelling reserves

His place in the reserves is taken by Reece Topley

I thought the travelling reserves packed up when Roy Orbison died.

Poor Sam has recorded a thanks and farewell message to the CSK fans. Still waiting for him to do one about Surrey.

The sad thing here is stuff like this doesn’t really seem like ‘Surrey’ news anymore. Tom is injured for a chunk of the season that he would normally be sat on an IPL bench. I hope that when he comes back he finally sees that he needs to play a full season with us to try and get some momentum back in his career because the way things are headed Surrey might be all he has left.

I think both the Currans are suffering from too little cricket, need a full season of bowling to get really fit, with no IPL!!! Put money aside and concentrate on improving yourself as a cricketer!!

If they can't agree to the above let's tell them thanks very much and goodbye.

No Sam Curran in the IPL, surprisingly. TC is injured anyway.

Sam put on his social media stuff that he's not bothering and concentrating on being ready for Surrey, what a time to be alive

we may have Sam back if fit, but I see that Ollie Pope has put himself up for auction at the IPL this year

I would have thought that the Currans experience would have put any young cricketer off the IPL. Short time gain is no substitute for good career progression

I can't imagine Pope would command a big fee, given his poor recent Test form and that he's not a white ball international player. Unless he fires in the West Indies he may well need Championship runs to hold on to his Test place. What on earth are his priorities?

Nearing a full return to bowling according to Batty, will miss the England test series

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/sam-curran-on-track-for-bowling-return-says-surrey-head-coach-gareth-batty-1314387

Just glad he can fully concentrate on Surrey duty until the end of June at the very least...

It's my age. CDG will always be Charles de Gaulle, in human or airport form.
