Lancashire (A) 26-29 Sep (Sky Sports)
Sky’s customary “final game of the season featuring the champions” telecast will be Lancs vs Surrey.
However, there’s a lot of channel hopping involved.
Day 1: Cricket & Main Event
Day 2: Cricket all day, Main Event 10:30-close
Day 3: Cricket 10:15-15:00, Main Event 10:30-15:00, Mix all day
Day 4: Cricket all day, Main Event 10:30-close
Sky may decide to YouTube it too - they have in the past - but let’s wait and see.

No Pope or Foakes in the squad. Had we not secured the championship last week I sincerely hope they would have been. There is an opportunity to give one or both of the spinners a game, and I wonder whether Blake will keep wicket. We need to balance seeing the game as an opportunity to give members of the squad who haven't played the chance to show what they can do against the prize of remaining unbeaten, which eluded us in 2018.

Why are we on Sky and not a relegation game?
Don’t make sense. Pope and Foakes rested by the ECB!
The Pakistan tests don’t start until December.
Sky and the ECB make some very strange decisions with
no logic.

I would suggest one of the relegation games would be far more interesting than a virtually dead game at a cold, possibly showery Old Trafford (well I hope it clears up for those few going and they will see the Trophy presented), particularly either the Middlesex one or Glamorgan. Come on Glam, I don't want to go to Lords and we just might get Colwyn Bay.

Well said Chinaman. Sky treat their paying customers
like crap sometimes.

Luckily if you feel like watching any of the other games you can just tune into the online streams!

Stating the obvious there cocker! My point is Sky have
a lot of paying customers who are not Lancashire or Surrey
supporters. They want to see a meaningful game.
Our game is like Jack Leach and Andrew Strauss fighting
over a comb.

Easy solution to that Steve-don't pay the b******s.
With the advent of streams, watching live matches has become much easier and FREE.

There must be a reason, maybe the plans were set and they can’t change them without a significant cost - who knows - but if you’re paying your Sky subscription for that one championship match they may or may not show a season, then I’d get that cancelled and put it towards the energy bills.

Thanks for the comments guys. Just find it strange they
are showing a meaningless game live that’s all.
Old Trafford normally turns so maybe Virdi will get a game!

Luckily, no Anderson for Lancs. I say luckily because Broad is playing for Notts.

I expect the following XI:
Burns, Patel, Amla, Geddes, Smith, Steel, Clark, Overton, Lawes, TCurran, Roach.
Personally I would play Virdi instead of Steel. We have enough batting in that lineup.

Matt Parkinson vs Cam Steel for a seat on the plane to Pakistan. This is the one everyone wants to see and is a prime example of sky treating their paying customers exceptionally well.

Is this an actual camera broadcast, or going to be one where they just get a stream feed on? To be fair, apparently Lancs production this season have been quite good...

I would hope it’s an actual broadcast - they normally do one per year… but I shall offer you the Willie Whitelaw defence: we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Re: Lancashire (A) 26-29 Sep (Sky Sports)
Ben Foakes and Ollie Pope are rested following an intense international and domestic summer.
Blimey, they only played half of most test matches.
I don't know how they would manage 26 three day matches of years ago followed by a winter doing a proper job!

It sets a concerning precedent when Ben Foakes, not on a central or incremental ECB contract, is prevented from playing because the ECB said so.

Re: Lancashire (A) 26-29 Sep (Sky Sports)
Plenty of depth in the batting, but a lot of pressure on Smith keeping wicket (in the first innings) and batting at four. Steel at 5 seems a place too high, as does Tom C at 6 (yes, I know what he did last time but one swallow and all that...)
