Just seen the news that the Ozzies are not going to let him play for us from May to July to manage his workload. Thanks for the last minute decision guys! Time to dig out Mr Stewarts little black book of contacts again.....

There's 11 Aussies starting this county season, so we seem to be a bit unlucky.

Hardie wasn't joining till end of May so we were always one overseas player down until Abbott signs at start of May.

Hopefully we have always been planning for someone in that first month.

Hardies non signing might open up at opportunity to someone already in the squad like Jordan Clark (who may have lost his place) or Tom Lawes perhaps.

Yes it is.
I would suggest that those who have little else to do than clog up the site with this childish nonsense seek medical help, urgently.

Don't talk rubbish.Clark is one of our best players.

if all our squad was available (including internationals) would there have been any possibility if it was a straight call between Clark and Hardie that you may have selected the latter? - obviously its irrelevant now.

I'm not sure how many T20 Vitality games he played last year, but Hardies absence presumably opens up that option for Jordan Clark. (seem to recall Narine and Tom Curran coming in at 3 and 4 for a good many games last season)

Also it might be good with presumably Narine missing too, to perhaps give more opportunities to our squad players in the T20 games (during IPL, T20 World Cup), why not give them a few games outside of the Metro bank 50 Over stuff. (eg Ben Geddes)

Clark was outstanding last season, be really harsh on him if that was to be the hypothetical case. Gives Lawes more of chance at making the XI in my opinion.

In terms of Jordan Clark I was thinking of the T20 side not County Championship, Hardie was signed for the T20.

Australia international all-rounder Aaron Hardie has re-signed for Surrey from May until the end of July.

The 25-year-old will be available for three County Championship matches and the T20 Blast group stage.

Hopefully those 2 have stopped acting like a couple of James Blunts. Stewie may decide not to
bother replacing Hardie and give players like Geddes more of a chance in the CC team.

and then we signed Sean Abbott.

Who out of Kemar Roach, Abbott or Hardie would you rest if all 3 were available? as was the case for 2 out of those 3 County matches.
