I was planning on dropping in for an hour or two tomorrow morning to watch some of this match, unfortunately it seems that the weather isn't going to play ball. Hope the forecast is proved wrong!

A few years ago I went to a cricket match in Beckenham at the end of March the temperature was approaching seventy degree Fahrenheit!

There's quite a few games at Beckenham, was planning on seeing a couple of days of the West Indies tour match there at start of July. I think Kent are playing 3x Vitality matches there and the Ladies (South East All-Stars) when not playing at Oval (twice this summer) are based there - matches Free.

A few years ago the first CC match against Somerset at the Oval had snow stops play! It was freezing and they went off at 5pm frozen stiff.

We should get some play today, not least because Surrey might say they’ve lost so much time they need the practice!

Burns drags on a wide half volley. The guy has all the luck, it’s just bad luck.

Is Ben Geddes seriously going to bat at number 9? He didn't bat at Sussex, we obviously aren't going to need next week at Old Trafford?

Ollie Pope and Ben Foakes will be playing at Old Trafford so I suspect Geddes is not on the radar, especially with how well Patel played today.
This bowling performance is money for old rope.

I reiterate my last sentence.
Overton 0-30 (4)
Steel 0-34 (3)
Barnwell 0-18 (1.1)
Overton 0-30 (4)
Steel 0-34 (3)
Barnwell 0-18 (1.1)

I would also expect Dan Lawrence to be playing at Old Trafford.

Patel has now had two oportunities to show he's in good nick
Also Cameron Steel was given a chance in both matches to bat and hopefully he'll repeat his performance at Old Trafford last season, next week. He's obviously a realistic selection option, Geddes is only one if Foakes, Lawrence and Pope were all missing.
But its a bit mean to pick a batsman for two matches and not give him an opportunity to bat in either.
