Is it time to accept Jordan is a hopeless captain? Or….
… is Batty doing a useless job as manager of the T20 team?
Personally I suspect both are culpable. Jordan makes some very bizarre bowling changes, and as for his choice of batting order it’s a ruddy lottery. Of course he will have Batty leaning on him from the side-lines. Let’s not forget how awful Batty was as a captain himself.
Nope it a horrible mess in the T20, when we have a squad that should win the tournament with blindfolds on.
My one shout has always been to pick our best spinner no matter how poor his batting is. If you need to rely on number 11 you’re doing something wrong. Ah yes, so the spinner I would have picked every game is Moriarty.

SWC
In answer to your 2 questions
1) I think that CJ is probably the best available as captain. I agree some of the decisions being made seem strange, both in the bowling and batting order, but I dont see anyone else capable of the job
2) as for GB, he should also be culpable with some of the decisions, especially the batting line up and the selection of the team of course, but if he isnt the manager, he will be. Are you suggesting that we get someone else in to do just the T20 managers role, like they do in the IPL, as you cant really knock is record in the CC.

Surely not? His captaincy was being lauded on the live feed the other night and they must know what they are talking about.
What tends to be forgotten is when strange decisions actually work. We forget that we shook our heads at the time on those ones and only remember the ones where things went pear-shaped (which they might have done anyway given a more conventional decision).
As for the idea that Surrey's squad should be winning T20 with blindfolds on, that seems a little dismissive of some pretty good teams out there, including Somerset and Lancashire (and Middlesex are on a winning streak!).

Jordan is one of the most experienced T20 campaigners on the circuit - to suggest he's a 'hopeless' captain is a bit of a stretch.
As mentioned yesterday, not his fault if he asks his bowlers to not bowl in the slot and they do so. The batting, for the most part, has been fine - every team has a blip.

Our blip has lasted much too long,Batty has been in charge for 2 years now, still as bad as ever in the T20. Picks only seam bowlers who go for 10 runs and over, it won’t pick Moriarty who goes for 7 , in a game where a many matches go down to the last over, such decisions make all the difference. Why again does Abbott no bat before TC ,Overton and Jordan himself?? If he’s not going to bat,why is he in the side? Because he goes for over 10 runs per over. Must be Batty’s fault he picks the side !! Clearly not up to the job in the T20

I thought CJ’s captaincy in the field was excellent against Essex but overall I believe Will Jacks would be the best option.

Jordan on several occasions, whilst we are being battered, has chosen not to give Jacks a single over. Utter stupidity. Since when does experience as a player make someone a good captain?
I remember when you couldnt move for spin options in our T20 team. I find it most peculiar that Batty of all people has taken a huge dislike to spinners himself. Yet he picks seamers who are never fit to bowl a single over, and are also ordinary at best with the bat. As for Abbott- god knows what the thinking is there.
Im afraid our T20 set up is a shambles.

You can't blame Batty - when Jordan has not been available Jacks has bowled much more under Curran and indeed himself...

Can blame Batty,we’ve gone backwards since last year, lost only 3 matches last year in the group stages, and NONE at home!!! He’s the one picks the team ,Jordan can only play with what Batty selects. No specialist spinners other than Narine, lots of bowlers who go for 10+ runs per over, and who decides the batting order?? Surely Jordan would want Abbott to bat before TC ,Overton and himself? Surely “The buck stops at the top”
