Sorry to hear about your experience today Angus, I had similar but the stewards at the North Gate were really helpful. I hadn’t bought tickets thinking that there would be a ticket machine at the gate, then the steward thought we might be able to get in on Surrey memberships, went to check, and was told we couldn’t. So I said I’d buy tickets on the app and not to worry, but his manager gave us complimentary tickets as it was 130ish and we’d been very polite and willing to pay. An excellent customer service experience.

Mostly a good effort from the bowlers used today, but Jordan Clark seems to have discovered some form with the bat while losing it a bit with the ball. He was only trusted with 9 overs all day, and helped get Stoneman off to a flyer as well as giving away four overthrows at one point. Without getting too far ahead of ourselves, if Sam Curran is available for Taunton I wonder if Jordan might benefit from a rest? I'm sure he'll come good again in September.

Silly me it’s Jordan Clark and his 36 wickets @22 who should be dropped! Suggesting he might benefit from a rest is such a cop out. He’s barely played having not being involved in T20. I’ve long said on here how under appreciated he is and this just goes to prove it.
replace him with a spinner and we would win every game by a trillion. Gaz out.

Unfortunately we don't have a spinner that is good enough, although many will disagree. Certainly not to replace Clark who has apart from his wickets scored a century and a 70 odd recently.

The very sameness of our attack is the problem that we suffer from, easy to hang around for the tailenders if all your face is seam and more seam. If there’s no seam movement,we are stuffed!! All good attacks contain a least one specialist spinner.

Ethan Bamber is a fine young cricketer looks like he is going all the way to the top.

The forecast is looking better than it did yesterday. We should wrap it up comfortably before the rain arrives at 3ish.

Careful. It isn't over until it's over. It was only a few weeks ago that Lancashire skittled us out for 84 when we all thought the game was ours for the taking.

Surely it’s “Shocking it took us two balls to get rid of Murtagh, Gaz out!”?

The Lancashire game is on my mind too, RB!

Agreed. Only concerning aspect is that he's a friend of our RB. Wink

I would have Jacks open with Burns.

Need to balance the threat of rain and going so gungho we fall to 30/5!

Meanwhile....can Kent deny Essex three wickets before the monsoons arrive? I think Warwicks and Lancs will have to settle for a draw. Potentially a gain on three of our four title rivals. Hampshire wrapped up a win yesterday, but it's the other three I'm more worried about.

STOP PRESS; Essex have been ruthless this morning. They have just a handful of runs to get - we need to get home quickly ourselves.

I'm not sure we need to be going at it in quite such a hurry.

Not sure about that. My weather app suggests it is due by 12.15. It will be tight.

The sky behind the pavilion still looks quite bright. That's what's heading our way.

I've been in Manchester since Wednesday so not really been able to pay too much attention, but this looks like a fantastic win that should put us in the right direction after a few shoddy displays recently

A good result, and a better performance than we've seen recently.

A shame to see him employing dodgy tactics this morning. At least Middlesex, because of their slow over rates (as per usual) had to get on with it and couldn't treat us to blatant time wasting while hoping for rain.Well played lads, still a handy 14 point lead.I'm off to Taunton on Tuesday.

Excellent result, quite amazing field placing from Middlesex 7 or 8 players on the boundary for most of the time 🤔

The rain duly arrived shortly after the match finished. A good win and nice to see a few players regain some form. It will be a tough one next week. Hampshire are playing Essex which will also be an interesting game.

Well done Surrey. But really what on earth are Middlesex doing in Division 1. Hopefully they'll be relegated. Wouldn't mind Durham (a certainty) and Worcester coming up. Good away trips.

Most of Middlesex's remaining fixtures are against teams in the top half of the table. Which is bad news for us ....

Solid performance, I was particularly pleased to see Burns weather a difficult period on the first morning, hopefully that will revive his form, he has his virtues. How do we get Curran in for Somerset? Rain forecast to affect that match.
