Sit down next to me.........................(or at least one seat away !)
I've never quite understood why trumpets are OK but the cacophony of percussion that used to accompany Tests against the West Indies was discouraged and eventually stopped. Both put me off but not as much as the prices. Market forces, I suppose.

I'm 70 next month and count myself lucky to have so many people in their 20's,30's and 40's on the internet and TV who can tell me what life was like in the 1960's/70's and 80's.I only lived through it all but they are the experts, and there seem to be hundreds of them.

Perhaps we should make a deal. They stop telling us (I'm a few months older than you) what our lives were like forty years ago and we stop telling them what their lives should be like now.
Now, how do we post ageist birthday cards on the forum?...

there was a lot of talk about slow overrates during the Ashes
England have lost 19 WTC points because of it

It also stopped all the local West Indian community coming, and the pre booking of tickets nailed it on the head.

I ought to stop buying the Daily Mail.
According to the several pages of judgment we have just witnessed the greatest test series ever!!! Bazball is the best thing that ever happened to cricket!
Other than dreadful Aussie batting, often ordinary English batting, some of the worst wicket keeping you are ever likely to see, barely one decent spin ball throughout, and, possibly average seam bowling. (Yes Woakes did quite well). Oh and captaincy/management decisions which were often beyond bonkers. Even the umpires were off.
No it was bloody awful and only due to poor form in equal measures did the series end up tied.
The cricketing media are scared poopless to criticise Stokes, they wont utter a single word against him. Well I will when its needed, and without doubt Stokes and Bazball were dreadful in this Ashes series, no matter what Paul Newman, Nass etc tell us.

We scored 592 in the fourth test, our highest total at home vs Aus since 1985, but sure, “dreadful”.
Honestly I think people saw what they wanted to see rather than what actually happened.

Zak Crawley scored 189 of those. Most "real England fans" wouldn't have had in the team.

How does scoring 592 in ONE game against a sloppy Aussie attack, minus their best spinner in a game we didn’t even win make this a great test series?

We scored 517-1 in 2010 against the worst Australian team in living memory and drew the game. Does that make it anything other than an excellent batting performance?
Oh wait, they went at 2.5 an over, so the answer must be yes…
