“Ambitious Surrey want to build second ground away from the Oval”

Not entirely sure what to make of this. Apparently a “10 year plan” to build a second ground somewhere currently unspecified in the county.

If, as the article states, it will be focused on the Academy, sounds sensible if the funds are available. I hope through it won’t become the default home of Championship cricket - I imagine that might be tempting if it was a facility that could accommodate around 5k spectators.

It would be incredibly disappointing if the result of this was the Oval being reserved solely for T20 and the H*****d.

Oh FFS. Who is the Slipper(y) guy? I thought he'd only been co-opted to the GC to act as interim Chair. I'd hope we have a full vote on who the new Chair is, and can vote him out - because on the evidence of the last two articles he's (1) pro the Hundred and (2) pro outside investment. And we don't need either.
