Oval Friday vs Gloucester
Well however you work out the points configurations, we need to win this and Notts next Tuesday to start and see what happens elswhere.
No tubes tomorrow and many buses are affected mainly to the West of London. The link on the website gives you what numbers are affected.
Weather looks good.

We need to win twice, Sussex to lose twice, and Warwickshire to lose three times (or get one point max.). Middlesex play both Sussex and Warwickshire.

Like the Warwickshire one, a close, nail-biting game....but a great one? Not for me, Clive. Too many weak performers on both sides.
Geddes and Lawes are quality already, and it would have been great to see them introduced into a strong, experienced Surrey 50-over side (like Pope and Jacks were) instead of having to shoulder so much of the load among the flotsam and jetsam.
Anyway, good weather, a lovely day, and not too long to wait until the championship returns.

Entertaining. Never thought we would get far in this competition, but on a game by game basis it's been enjoyable. The guys have done their best, can't ask for more than that.

I would have preferred a full strength squad but the players available have shown some ability and never gave up. Lawes and Geddes are obviously likely to become very good players, Gumbs and Majid have a chance. Steel is better than I thought, but he and the others who played seem unlikely to break into the best team.
During the match I was approached by a young man collecting signatures to require a special general meeting to discuss the future of domestic cricket and I think to ensure consultation with members, I signed naturally and would encourage other members to do so. We are a members club and should be consulted on the likely proposed changes.

Realistically, it was a dead rubber.
