Apparently Joe Root thinks there should be should more domestic 50 over cricket instead of the T20 Blast to prepare players for the World Cup. But he believes that the Hundred should be preserved. I assume that would be to prepare players for the Hundred World Cup ???

new multi year contracts been awarded

Atkinson has a 2 year, as does Sam Curran and Pope. Foakes has a 1 year contract, as does Topley

Rather bizarrely the test skipper only has a 1 year contract as well

Just watched PK vs Afghanistan. Tell you what, let Alec have a look at a few of the Afghan batsmen for next season. Some great batting. This side really knows how to play 50 over, unlike our lot, who are either out of form or just want to get back to T20. Anyway back to sleep....zzzzzz.

No deal for Dan Lawrence.

Edit: Wasn't contracted anyway.

When I suggested that a simple solution to the domestic schedule madness would be for counties to play one 4-day match and one 1-day match per week (most weeks), Don Topley told me that the PCA wouldn't allow it. Too demanding, he said.

Chinaman - wasnt aware that Curran has come home. I know Topley has and Archer was deemed not fit enough

I believe Malan has played a few.

Gus Atkinson great prospect that he is,has really cracked it with a 2 year contract it’s amazing for what he has so far achieved in he’s so far short career at Surrey (Hardly a Regular)

With the central contracts it looks to me as though we will be missing Pope for the Tests and S. Curran, Topley and Atkinson for the limited over internationals.  Foakes seems to be there as a reserve.

What we need to know now is who is going to the IPL,  I expect S. Curran and possibly Jacks.  This would give us Roy and T Curran available although they may decide only to play white ball cricket.  I have a great deal of sympathy with Stewart as he tries to work out who is likely to be available when and who we therefore need in the way of overseas players.

Unbelievable that they’ve picked Woakes again, whose bowling has been awful and Wood almost as bad!! How many chances do they get? The decisions made in this competition has been catastrophic!!! I think that me might have a new captain and coach after this!

TV is killing Cricket in the same way it killed football IMHO.Every decision that can be reviewed is reviewed often causing a 5 minute delay.Every catch taken near the ground has the same result.

Bairstow smashed the first ball for runs but computer says out.Has anyone ever been given out in those circumstances?

Thank Goodness for County Cricket.

Surely our worst ever World Cup performance, dismal batting and bowling!!! How does Woakes get in the squad? let alone the playing eleven? Time for many players to make a white ball exit and the management too!!

Playing even the lowest level of recreational cricket, and people will spend the day abusing each other.

Oh dear me. I've woken up just long enough to write that England is in the pits about as far as you can get. No one looks in any form in the whole side. I'm fact most of them are half asleep. Well it's an old boys club isn't it. What happened to Bazeball? ECB should face the firing squad, two bloody dicks and all. Good night 🌙.

"He was technically out according to the laws of the game but it's a good thing he wasn't given out."

Have you any idea how ridiculous you sound? You can't kick away outside off any more and that has got to be a good thing for the game.

I recommend this every five minutes - compulsory viewing in my opinion. Nasser Hussain, in 2021, on how DRS has changed cricket. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hINjG-Nc5CA
