Getting beyond frustrating now. You wonder if Lawrence shouldn't have a bowl, not sure how dark it is but Kent bowled a lot of spin yesterday, Parkinson getting 5 wickets.

Feel like we need to take a few wickets before lunch - just 1 wicket in opening 2 hours
I don't think Lawes has bowled yet today has he? hopefully Worrall can bowl a few overs before lunch

Taking a lot longer than expected to clean them up.
Matt Parkinson must be up there with the worst number 8’s in County Championship history yet he’s still hanging around.

Hope Kemar can put these first two games behind him - uncharacteristically poor

Thank god that is over
They were just talking of Parkinson getting/deserving a 50 and put the kiss of death on him!

Re: Kent away Canterbury
In the end, a comfortable win. The weather held up, and we had enough time in hand to allow for a spirited rearguard action by the Kent lower order. Our batsmen are generally looking in fine fettle, and most of our bowlers have wickets under their belt - Worrall the pick.
We need to talk about Kemar. I'd go so far as to say he should probably 'rest' for the next match, assuming Atkinson is allowed to play.

Yes weather held out, but a depleted Kent put up a good fight. Cameron Steel has been a revelation so far this season. Good to see Worral on top form. We seem to have all the bases covered. I'll stick my neck out but even this early it may be a two horse race with Essex. Hope it doesn't go to the last game of the season finished 30th September!

I have always thought of Steel as a useful squad player, I am beginning to think he is more than that. I realise now that I do not have a clue what our best championship side is, though of course it will never take the field.
With the exceptions of Worrall and Steel I do not think we bowled very well in this match.

Pleased with the win, but I'm out of here for a while for a number of reasons. I could return in another guise, but no doubt some will be pleased as Chinaman is for now no more.
Enjoy the cricket.

Cameron Steel averages 12 with the ball and 86 with the bat.

Nope. The ECB need Atkinson to get his ‘mid rest’ period after resting for 5 tests in India and before resting for 6 tests this summer.

Hampshire a good test coming up normally a victory at The Kia Oval. Hampshire did break a bit of a Hoodoo away last game in 2023.

Funny how a player like Jonny Bairstow who's had his injury problems who played in first few Ashes tests way off full fitness last summer, can play constant cricket all the way from 50 Over World Cup to India Test series, to IPL through to T20 World Cup. I hope if we have thse rules for players who play domestically that anyone with a central contract who has played IPL and T20 World Cup will be rested for the West Indies series? Rob Key would certainly be guilty of favoritism if some players didn't get a "rest"
