Thought Ollie looks quite tidy behind the stumps

Leach looks to me as if he has a better technique than most of England's top order.
Classic finish, reminders of the Oval 1968.

People will always target Leach for whatever reason, and he's had a pretty rough tour, but he's one bloody resilient bloke
Credit where it's due, they showed some much needed fight. And an opener got some runs!

Well I'd hope so, but you never know. To be honest Burns and Sibley, while not setting the world on fire, we're a better opening partnership than we have had in this series, and that still doesn't say a lot.

If we needed an overseas bowler I’d hope we’d try for Scott Boland. He looks like he’d take a bucket load of wickets over here.

Agree on Burns. But Sibley was absolutely terrible. Couldn’t buy a run towards the end.
But Hameed is genuinely the worst opener I’ve ever seen play more than a handful of tests for England. Even worse than Jennings. Like a tailender scratching around trying to survive while playing zero shots.

Sources suggest Burns is likely to replace Hameed, thank goodness, whilst a combination of Pope/Lawrence/Billings will deputise for Stokes/Bairstow/Buttler's injuries.

Considering we need someone to fill Rikki Clarke's boots then I'd love to see a move made for Cameron Green. Even though he's widely known as a batsman, his bowling's been impressive and he's been remarkable in the gully region when fielding

Green is superb but I think he’ll be wrapped up in cotton wool from now.

I used to smile every time Kevin Hand suggested that Sam Robson could be in line for a Test recall nut I'm starting to wonder...

Re: The Ashes 2021/22
Why is Anderson doing crosswords instead of bowling on this April English type green top? It beggars belief unless he's injured?
It seems Head and Labushange know better now to play on these tracks that England. Probably played more county cricket than any of our lot. Oh and Woakes is just useless.

Labuschagne is a bighead.Sometimes it all goes to people's heads, see Djokovic!
Very good batsman though.

Re: The Ashes 2021/22
We really are truly awful, only got 3 world class players when playing overseas, No Archer and a half fit Ben Stokes, only Root really contributing at all. We are making them look like supermen, Because we are that bad!! So depressing that there seems to be no one better to replace the present team. I also see that Harrison is concerned about the state of English red ball cricket, it’s a bit late for that!

Labuschagne gone cheaply. Was hoping to see him have another crack at that new shot his.... attempting to clip a straight ball to leg side while standing outside the pitch he's supposed to be batting on.

Re: The Ashes 2021/22
Why are we always informed by pundits how unlucky it is getting out to "a legside strangle." Just leave the ball alone FFS.
The openers (300 runs behind) are not there to steal tight/quick singles.UNBELIEVABLE
I would bring in a policy that tells batsmen, specifically openers that should they run someone out in these circumstances they will not be considered for selection for two years.

Re: The Ashes 2021/22
They should have changed the captain, coaches and at least 6 of the team after the 3rd Test. Any half decent county player can't be as bad as this lot. At least Billings looks interested. And Broad shouting at a robot just about sums it up!

I'm not a fan of occasional Kent player Billings but he's done well so far.

Crawley sold Burns right down the river, but he should have died
As for Ollie, what on the fucking Earth was that?!

That's likely the end of Pope in Test cricket for a while, which will suite us.
Just get the remnants of England on the plane home asap.

Apart from being trounced and humiliated in four of the five games and no sign of improvement for the next few years, I'd say it's been a very enjoyable series.
