Surrey v Warwickshire
Squad of 13 announced. I would go:
Burns, Sibley, Smith, Sudharsan, Foakes, Steel, Clark, Overton, Lawes, Roach, Worrall
They may be tempted to play Patel instead of Steel (and batting at 3), but this would leave no spin option. As others have said, however, Steel's bowling returns in championship cricket are modest to say the least.
I'm not clear where Sudharsan will bat. The fact he is an IPL specialist suggests his ideal position in red-ball may be 5-6, but we may need him higher up the order unless Patel plays.

I hope they’re tempted to play Patel because he’s played 42 more first class matches than Sudharsan and is in good form from the one day cup. I think it’ll come down to a choice between those two. If Rory isn’t fit enough to play then Patel surely plays.

Warwickshire have secured West Indian Test Captain Kraigg Brathwaite for the remainder of the season. No doubt he is pleased and delighted to join them.Just as pleased as he was when he joined Yorkshire,Notts,Glamorgan and Glouc.

I think Patel will play. McKerr and Lawes to miss out for the final eleven.

I think it is more likely that the two omitted from the 13 man squad will be McKerr and Steel. Although Steel offers better potential as a batsman, Lawes has just picked up vital wickets for us even when the other seamers have not been at their best. Overton is almost certainly not back to full bowling fitness but has to play for his batting strength and Worrall has not bowled quite as well this season as he did last year. Clarke and Roach have been the pick of the seam bowlers but we are definitely going to miss Gus Atkinson (who would surely be in the team if available instead of Lawes) and Will Jacks.
As I have said in earlier posts I think it is wrong to bring this young Indian into the team for these last 3 games. I feel very sorry for Ryan Patel & Ben Geddes, with another potential Dan Moriarty scenario a distinct possibility with either or both of them. It may be that he is a potential long term overseas batsman for Surrey but being an Indian I think we are now going to always have problems with selection for the IPL throughout April/May and then the BCCI will also want to limit him to stop any burn out.

Shame we lose the usual suspects for this completely pointless T20 series

Rushworth is obviously very, very, good, but Burns really has had a shocker of a season

That's one of those that you get out to when you're in bad nick; brilliant ball, mind you.

Not seen any coverage how is the wicket playing and have they left some grass on it?

All season, it looks a different game as soon as Jamie Snith comes in. Player of the Season by a country mile.

Who are these commentating bores droning on about England-almost ignoring the fact a game is going on.
