Surrey vs Northants

It feels strange being a cricket-lover who wishes the cricket season was over.

First bonus point. Obviously Jamie's injury hasn't helped but we haven't bowled particularly well at all so far today. At least Essex haven't had the greatest of days so far either.

It’s been very windy here which has clearly affected the bowling.

306/6 for Essex seems a good day for them after a poor start!!

Light hokey-cokey was a piss take.

I’m not sure what it is about the way he bowls them but Tom Lawes picks up plenty of wickets with a yorker.

Certainly Essex had the better of the First Days.

Surrey left out Geddes (Ashtead CC) and Blake (Sutton CC) today in favour of a  debutant,unknown Indian Sai Sudharsan.He could turn out to be the new Tendulkar but i still don't think it's right.Well done (yet again) Tom Lawes.

Surrey v Northants live stream where they occasionally talk about the Cricket match going on in front of them.Yesterday we had a seminar on Ukraine.Today it's dogs.Posted some photos on facebook,not sure how to put them here.

With the weather this week it looks like this game and Essex will be draws, with Essex possibly ahead on bonus points.If that's the case, we'll probably need 6-8 points next week.
Northants not quite the pushover some were suggesting.

After every delivery we are being treated to a man,a lady and a dog with Norcross in the commentary box.It just goes on and on.........................We've seen more of these people than the proceedings on the pitch in the last half hour,it's getting ridiculous.

Prior to this match Northants have gained FOUR batting points all season.

This bowling is below par.

Essex are heading for a big total having been 132 for 5 at one stage. I'm not sure that we can rule out them bowling Hampshire out twice in the play that remains.

Suffice to say we're being made to pay for dropping two absolute dollies

Credit to Northants for some sensible batting but some of our bowling has been quite poor. Our performance so far seems to have a real end-of-season feel to it. It's almost as though that maybe the players feel that the championship has already been secured or that given the forecast, there is no chance of forcing a result in this match.

It should have been secured far sooner.
Despite his 2 wickets after lunch he's bowled like a dozy lump.
Mind you the captaincy hasn't helped much. Why can't they stop Nair getting a single from the fifth or sixth ball of an over; or then Overton gives the no. 11 an easy one of the first ball!
