Yes.He needs to be fit for the next 20 over slog up that he swans off to.

I'm not sure Currans dibbly dobblers are the answer. With county bowling distinctly average, pitches have to be a little bit more bowler friendly, to avoid games like this one. Dreadful wicket, spectators such as were there deserve a refund.

And even taking into account weather interuptions, there were 6 draws out of the 8 rounds played. Not a good start to the season I think.

Hang on! One of them was the result of the Leics last wicket pair batting out 25 overs or so and another swung both ways (if you'll pardon the expression) before Northants shut up shop for the last few overs. Notts' match looked like the runfests people are criticising until Sussex's second dig. Durham and Middlesex (and Derbyshire to be fair!) both looked to be in with a chance of forcing a win until late on the last day. Draws can be exciting too.

Yes draws can be, but mostly are not. I just don't like 500 plays 500. Give me a 3 day result anytime.

The 3 day result is why we are not producing batsmen
for test cricket. Every CC game needs to go into the last
day on good pitches with pace and bounce. Green tops
do the batsmen no good and then the bowlers struggle
in test cricket when they bowl on tracks that offer
little movement.

It is a balance surely. I too hate 500 plays 500 pitches, I am also not keen on pitches that favour the bowler too much and it is all over at lunch on day three. I fear the present clamour for batters pitches to help young batters get experience will lead to more 500 v 500 dead games and the commentators will call them "good pitches" when in truth they are appalling pitches. It is not good for batsmen to have it easy either, they need to be tested.

Bollocks to Test Cricket. After watching for virtually 60 years i've had enough.Almost every wicket that falls involves a 5 minute enquiry and they never bowl the full amount of overs even with the added on time.
Also,if you watch England you have to suffer listening to those Barmy Army idiots all day long.

Moriarty selected for the 2s at Taunton which perhaps suggests Virdi is the first choice still and likely to play on Thursday.

Good luck keeping the CC going without the income from Test cricket! Though I suppose you might manage Surrey vs Lancashire all season.

I went early on this - Virdi wasn’t in the XI but they now list 13 players and Virdi has taken 2 wickets

Looking at the scorecard of the 2s friendly, I don't think we can rely on many of this lot stepping up to the first team-Virdi and Moriaty excluded. Overton made captain on his return there!

I suspect one of Virdi and Moriarty will play on Thursday for Jacks and Sam Curran, if he can bowl, will replace Jacks.
