I'm just intrigued on why people watch a type of game over and over that is generally so similar in outcome and is largely heavily waited in favour of the batsman. And then discuss "tactics" of belting the ball into the crowd. Now that's WEIRD in my book.

Re: T20 2023 campaign
Three pretty decent games today, and for a game weighted so heavily in favour of the batsmen, the bowlers and fielders did well. Can't complain about Somerset winning, they've been the best team in the tournament this season.
(Maybe next year we might pick one of our younger spinners, and play a few more recognised batsmen ... Foakes played well in this game by not being in the squad - for all of our big hitters, we needed someone to just stay in and knock off the runs at 7 an over.)

It is quite obvious that Chris Jordan by his actions that he never wanted Cameron Steel in his side, but he was lumbered with him by Batty. Clearly Batty and Jordan are not reading from the same hymn sheet This is Batty’s fault as he’s in charge and must be a bad thing to have captain and coach at loggerheads. Batty is ultimately responsible for our failure in the T20 (again). Batty is clearly not up to the job and should be replaced as T20 coach by someone who will unite the team under the captain!

Two massive CC games on the Road coming Up. Before The August Lockdown (pathetic) I think those matches will determine our Destiny this season. Got my doubts must admit.

But even when Moriarty has played he has bowled very little, and he had Jacks too who I believe has bowled more overs under a relief captain than he has when Jordan’s been on the field.

It’s like playing with 10 men, must make a difference. I would be to embarrassed to take the match fee if I was Cameron Steel, knowing you have contributed virtually nothing!!

Oh come on. Steel was included but never used for some odd reason by Jordan. You can't keep blaming Steel, blame Batty for a poor selection, but please every one stop banging on about Moriaty who is vastly overrated by many on here.

Re: T20 2023 campaign
In defence of Steel and Batty, it can be unrealistic to expect all 11 selected players to contribute in such a short game. It's rather like when I was at school...there were always a couple of people in the team who never felt they got a game just because the game wasnt long enough and there were other people who were really good at batting and bowling who dominated. We usually seemed to have plenty of batting, especially once Jacks and Evans hit form and then Jason Roy returned, while some of the bowlers selected weren't getting a bowl (Atkinson, Jacks...). Steel was redundant, but any potential replacement would probably have been.
I respectfully disagree that Moriarty is overrated. For a young spinner, he has generally done well in his very limited opportunities to date.

Batty is not a good white ball coach. Get Sangakarra in next season as T20 coach someone with more tactical nous than GB. Obviously keep GB as coach of the CC side.

I wasn’t complaining about Steel not contributing in just this one game, but not contributing in any of 9 games he has played altogether.
He hasn’t bowled for the obvious reason that Jordan doesn’t trust him to, at over 10 runs/over that is hardly surprising. Why can’t Batty see that ,goodness knows!!!!

Batty,Stewart and co are much cleverer than us mere mortals.Especially those of us who have been watching Surrey for 30/40/50 or 60 years.Aren't they? Some of the most baffling, stubborn, stupid team selections i've ever known.

He made a great start in the championship at Old Trafford , but I did predict that the awful shot he played at Chelmsford in the context of the situation would see him dropped for the foreseeable future.

Not sure the team selection was that bad in this semi. The top 6 didn't fire by the look of it. And really wouldn't you bat Abbot up the order?

And Sunil Narine has given more to Surrey this year than Cam Steel, but you don’t consider Narine a Surrey player.
