Re: T20 2023 campaign
I'd get rid of everyone to whom Surrey was a secondary commitment.

Reminder.Chinaman hates T20.He has no time for it at all, except to post a couple of hundred times about it.
Don't think I have said I hate it. But because I don't watch now because it's just too much of the same thing, doesn't mean that I don't want Surrey to do well in it.

Yes indeed. I dipped in for my usual first match "let's try and get some interest again in this". After 9 overs turned it off without success. Got tired of seeing ball after ball bowled wide of the stumps, a bloke called Extras must have been the top scorer. Crowd wise, well with a cost of living crisis in full swing not that many people are probably going to fork out some silly price for 34 overs of hit and giggle cricket in St John's Wood by the look of it. And if a pint at the Oval is £7.60 I dread to think what it is at Lord's.
You know despite the proliferation of T20, to me it's looking it's age.
I did try though.

Why are we playing a side of 8 bowling all rounders?

I think that's his point.

I see the Lancashire giraffe won the mascot race. Has the sodding lion that represents us ever won it? Batty needs to replace him personally, competing as "Batty bat" (the winged variety, not a cricket one).

Wonder why someone would waste their time reposting my emails just because they don't think I should comment on something I don't like? The whole point of HYS is to express an opinion. I don't really mind if others like it or not, but I'll still post as I wish.

We pick the wrong Lion. The mange holds him back

It's hard to put a finger on why day 4 of the Notts game was better than T20 finals day. All part of being a depressive I suppose.

Re: T20 2023 campaign
Good grief, what an invidious choice. Day 4 of Notts was horrible, but at least it didn't involve shelling out £200 for tickets and travel (more if you had to stay over), and it wasn't pissing down. It's like saying a deep filling was a better experience than root canal surgery.

Re: T20 2023 campaign
There are obviously 2 'halves' in a T20 game.
We did the 1st part really well, bowled well (though not sure why Steel, J Overton or Jacks didnt get a bowl) and fielded well, including 2 outstanding catches
However, the 2nd half was very village cricket. when you need 7 or 8 an over, and the 1st ball goes for 6, its obvious not to try and hit the next one the same, push it around, put pressure on the bowling side, create gaps in the field. Apart from Evans and Steel, we gave our wickets away. Jacks trying to go big on C Overton when it was obvious it was his last over of the spell, J Overton finding his brother trying to repeat the 4 he hit off the previous ball, Jordan finding the fielder having hit a 6 in the over when C Overton only had 2 balls left to bowl. It was all mindless batting.
Yes we do bat deep, but those at 6,7,8,9 have to have a chance to try and win us the game. we lost by 24 runs. we still had 19 balls left. It wasnt a huge task if there were wickets available
In saying all of that, fair play to Somerset, and to do it again in the final as well. They were the best team in the competition by far. However, we had a great chance to win it, and completely blew it.

If anyone has noticed, Jacks is being used a bowler by all of his franchise sides FAR more than he gets used by Jordan here.
