To be fair, I'm well used to batting collapses...

A wake up call.
Burns really needs look at himself as captain putting Lancashire in on Sunday and his own form is dreadful.
We got away with a great win at Canterbury but this was shambolic performance.

Agreed. Although it's still not good to be dismissed for under 100 in any conditions. But unlike the first innings, most of them were out to good deliveries. Maybe not a good idea putting them in given the forecast at the time ?adelaide wrote:I don't get this "disgrace" thing. Just class bowling in helpful conditions, more helpful than at any other stage of the match. OK, it was s bit too close for Jacks to leave but apart from Clark (who could hardly be blamed) nobody gave it away.

And I thought the ball that got Jacks was a really good delivery. It came back a very long way.Jedrich wrote:Agreed. Although it's still not good to be dismissed for under 100 in any conditions. Oh here we go, we lose a game of cricket where we have been outplayed by what many people thought would be serious challengers for the title this year, and all of a sudden we are shit.
It happens, the other team are allowed to play well
I would still rather be in our position that we are in, ie top, than chasing the leaders

Could turn out to be a blessing in disguise giving us a kick up the arse. Bat first next time if we win the toss and give Virdi a game a specialist spinner.

Let this be the low point for the season and go again.

thats impressive considering 1 of the top 5 is a New Zealander

I can accept that we had an off-day today, and that we were generally below par in the match. I also accept that Lancashire are a very good side (our biggest rivals, along with Essex - certainly both of them are ahead of Warwickshire and Hampshire). But this nonsense of routinely putting the other side in needs to stop now.
Onwards and upwards - a busy July with some vital (and winnable) Championship matches. Rory: if you win the toss, bat. If you are in doubt, think about it, then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult your colleagues, and then bat.

It was a good ball which came in quite a bit off the seam but I thought it was a poor decision for Jacks to leave the ball - especially as he'd survived an earlier LBW appeal against a ball from the same bowler which had also come in a lot.Jedrich wrote:And I thought the ball that got Jacks was a really good delivery.
