Re: Surrey v Lanccs
If Burns fails 2nd innings I would drop him for the Notts game. Bring Patel in and make Foakes skipper.

We bowled them out inside 80 overs and you're still moaning about that decision!?
Andrew Strauss, in his autobiography, said "if in doubt, bowl". A side can lose the game in the first hour if they're 30-5. They can't win it being 70-0. Anyone who's watched any Tests in New Zealand knows bowling first is usually the way forward - team one gets 400, team two gets 650, team three gets 200, game over. I thought this pitch had an air of that about it, but I was wrong. Certainly the Kookaburra moved more than everyone expected.
----
Had Root bowled first at The Gabba who knows the path Rory's career would have taken. But yes, the fact Rory stood there today for a good few seconds before going certainly worried me, he looked resigned, defeated even. Latham so far has really not delivered to expectations and "Sibcrawl" (as opposed to Bazball) didn't pay off either.
Tomorrow is pivotal - if Smith, Jacks, and Curran make a quick 50-100 each then we could take the game away from them.
Can I throw a curve ball into your plan but suggesting that Smith/Jacks and Curran don’t have to get their runs quickly? It’s day 2.

I agree its time to consider dropping Burns. We're top of the table but he's not even listed in the BBC averages as he's below 50....

Why the fuck is Abbott batting all the way down at 9? He's far too good to be that down the order

From looking like we wouldn’t get any batting points we now have 3!A wonderful effort from these 2

I thought Worrall had made it home. Oh well. Great effort from those two. And from Will Jacks and Sam Curran earlier. I can go and make a coffee now. I was going to make it between innings but I didn't want to jinx anything.

Terrific stuff from our two Aussies, there’s a lead which I didn’t expect. Well done Sam and Will earlier too! All runs scored at a terrific rate as well!!

Sean Abbott's batting this season is a revelation. His bowling has been good too. Even though he is only with us until the end of July, I will stick my neck out and say that only Jamie Smith is looking likely to
come close to him as "Player of the Season".

So Worrall made more than our top 3 combined and Abbott made more than our top 5 combined! Messrs Burns and Sibley, time for you to step up in the 2nd and we should do this

I see Sibcrawl is alive and well, as perfected by Lancashire.

Bears Following on At Chelmsford. I think Lancashire are our biggest rivals on all round team ability and depth.
