According to Alex Stewart at Northampton last week Lawes is almost certain to play.

Hi Chinaman - I was surprised Lawes didn't play at Northampton. Do you know why?

Stewie also said the spinners would get games later in the season.

Yes, apparently some slight hamstring problems so they decided not to play him. He did come on as a sub fielder later in the game though.
Well if the spinners get a game it'll have to be next week, Old Trafford often takes spin, but it's a looking a bit wet. I still say Virdi/Moriaty won't play a game though.

Steel was in the last match and I suspect he'll keep his place. Pope, Foakes and Overton replacing Geddes, Smith and Atkinson with Lawes remaining benched would be my guess.
Do you mean that Lawes will be 12th man?

Awful audio and there's no scorecard yet. Thought we were better than this

This stream doesn't seem like our usual coverage. I don't hear Churchie - although I can only hear one of the commentators and he's far too loud.

They’ve decided to go for the “stream commentary” option rather than simulcasting BBC Radio. And I don’t think that works.
Maybe it’s partly because I like Mark Church, and whilst I do like a good “TV commentary”, this coverage isn’t exactly Athers and Hussain.

It's like listening to Athers and Hussain without being able to hear Hussain. Which might not be a bad thing ....

To be fair they've got Adam Collins in, who's an excellent commentator/journo. Hope they sort it soon.

All I meant was that I watched a lot of the Bob Willis Trophy final last year purely because I could listen to those two all day together.

Given he was blameless on the two dismissals at Wantage Road it’s not yet a “concern”.
What is a concern is he needs 267 from 3 innings to make 1,000 CC runs. If he doesn’t do it it’ll be the first time since 2013 (England duties notwithstanding) that he’ll have failed to do so.

Well Kent clearly aren't going to do us any favours so it looks like we'll have to win this one ....

Hampshire are the jammiest club. Kent have no Crawley,
Billings or Denly.

Steel’s Championship innings this year:
22, 1, 5, 48, 0
Average 15.60. If I’m being a wag then I might suggest Virdi would be batting better than that…
