Whoever wrote this has the blinkers on if they think that England are playing more internationals this year than usual.
THEY ARE NOT.
The two match series against New Zealand was an additional series added by the ECB for the benefit of SKY TV. Under the Future Tours Programme (FTP), England would have played a three match ODI series in the Netherlands (postponed to 2022). If the FTP is correct, New Zealand wil be returning for the three match Series in the first half of the 2022 season

Re: Surrey vs Somerset July 11th.
True, but the broadcast deal is for 6 Tests, 6 ODIs, ans 6 T20Is in a summer so it was only added because they were one test short (yes, it became a 2-test series as a favour to Sky). However, the writer seems to be under the delusion they are playing India in white ball, which they’re not.
The Netherlands series is postponed to next year, but even so it’s not a home series so it’s not right to include it in those totals.

Hope for Ashwin’s sake he’s not being paid per wicket.

Looking to me that the game is slipping away here. Hopefully can make a better account for themselves with the bat this time round.
Does feel to me that Somerset will get a good total.

I wouldnt have bet a penny on us getting anything from this game. Our players and indeed fans are sapped of any motivation or belief.
Still never mind weve got a new stand and the Invincibles are still in the 100 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

They've clawed this back pretty well when you feel like 400 is on.

I would say that I didn't think Hampshire were going to get such a big score at the end of day one.
But does look a bit better.

Re: Surrey vs Somerset July 11th.
Pretty much as expected. Well done to all three spinners who did the brunt of the work on the first day which is really above and beyond what they should be expected to do. While they didn't run through Somerset, they bowled with enough control to stop them getting away, and also enabled our seam department - ie the two Clark(e)s - to stay fresh enough to bowl with a degree of effect late in the day.
But why was Jamie Overton off the field since lunch?

Did anyone tell Lee Fortis we were playing 3 spinners, because there didn’t seem to be much spin is this pitch. Seam bowlers took 4 wickets out is 6!! Thought Clark bowled particularly well, thank goodness!!

Another injury.
Not a lot of spin, but they kept enough control to make it even Stevens I reckon. Apart from the Clark (e)s we've no seamers so this was about what to expect, but we needed to bat first to win this. Div. 2 maybe Div.3 if Leicester win and we loose. But the rain might have the final say.

I'm interested in why you'd say about batting first.
I mentioned it before but my angle was based upon chasing the needed bonus points.

Hey Dougie - I wouldn't blame Fortis today. I feel we adopted a desperate approach dictated by our desperate position in the table. My take is that we were banking on winning the toss and then batting until late tomorrow when the track would increasingly start to take spin. That of course was blown out of the water as soon as Hildreth called correctly at 10:30.
Agree about Clark's bowling.

Well, despite my, ahem, slight inebriation, I’m here to tell you that with Somersault having scored 250, we can’t make Div1.
Given the fact we played 7 of the 10 games with Burns-Stoneman-Amla-Pope-Foakes as our first five… that’s a bit shit.

Surely Stewart/Solanki can’t survive this dreadful season and remain in their jobs, these are dark times at our club and yet nobody seems to care apart from the supporters, very depressing.
