4,000 at a guess. I'd say there were around 6,000 yesterday though.

Re: Somerset at the Oval
After the openers, none of our batsmen looked in great form-funnily enough the only exception might be Steel.
Somerset gave little away and our lot looked under-par. Still a decent position-but with a bit more aggression we’d be looking at a 150 lead very early tomorrow.

I can see Cameron Steel pushing for England this season.

I think he’s American.

Born in California, went to school in Australia. No doubt there will be yet another loophole that will let  him qualify for us.Not that it would ever happen.

Always thought he was a promising player. Has improved a lot last season in bowling and batting, and now this. Much better prospect than Virdi or the late Professor. Has more strings to his bow.

Big day today. Still can’t work out exactly how flat this wicket is. Thought Somerset were awful for the first 90 minutes yesterday but when they got better in the afternoon, it looked harder to bat on. Nobody has made a massive 100. Hoping some decent bowling from us this afternoon will bring us some goods.

I’ve been praising the commentators, but Norcross and the Aussies have been excruciatingly bad this morning. Non-stop dripping on about the height of batsman !
Beginning to really annoy.

Also hope the Kookaburra is binned off, you look at the scorecards elsewhere and wonder what on Earth the fucking point is

This has been an incredibly lackluster 45 minutes

Re: Somerset at the Oval
Apparently according to Surrey comms we were going to "attack" rather than defend the championship. Did the players get the memo? The only one who seems to have done (relative to expectations) is Sibley!

Re: Somerset at the Oval
Bit disappointing not getting the 450 and the extra batting point, but it gives more time to bowl them out today and get the win.
Looking like Essex could be front runners if they bowl over Kent with Lancs and Durham on the back foot.
Dan Lawrence!!!!!
Trying not to view this match through the eyes of a fantasy Cricket manager but Aldridge and Lawrence are both in my team

Unbelievable. They really need to sort this out.If you email the club and complain (as i did a couple of times last season) you get told something like "We have had lots of positive feedback about the commentators you mention." Most people i speak to agree that they are an absolute joke and need telling so.
